OnBuy shop management

Your OnBuy shop, run day to day.

OnBuy is a UK-founded marketplace that doesn't sell its own stock. We list your products there, and every order goes out with tracking, from our Leicester warehouse or straight from your wholesale supplier.

A UK marketplace with a growing reach

How we run your OnBuy shop

Your own stock, dropshipping, or both

How OnBuy works

Your own stock, sent from Leicester

You own the stock. It sits on our shelves in Leicester, and we send every order.

How it works

  1. We research products with room for profit after OnBuy's fees, and brand-check each one.

  2. You buy the stock. It comes to our warehouse in Leicester.

  3. We list it on your OnBuy shop.

  4. When it sells, we pick, pack and send it with tracking. Orders in by 12 pm are sent the same day on working days.

Who it suits

  • Sellers already stocking products for eBay or Amazon who want another UK marketplace.
  • Brands with their own products.

Good to know

  • Same-day dispatch for orders in by 12 pm keeps you well inside your handling time. With your OnBuy priority cut-off set to 12 pm, priority orders go out the same day too.
  • £2 an order, less at volume, and no storage fee.

Watch out for

  • You buy the stock up front.
  • OnBuy parcels go out without marketing inserts, as OnBuy's terms require.

Dropshipping from a wholesale supplier

No stock to buy up front. When an item sells, the wholesale supplier sends it straight to your buyer.

How it works

We list products from wholesale suppliers that send orders direct to buyers. When an item sells, our team buys it from the supplier with your card, and it's sent straight to your buyer with tracking.

Who it suits

Sellers who want to test a range on OnBuy before buying stock.

Good to know

  • No stock to buy up front.
  • OnBuy's terms allow a third party to fulfil your orders.

Watch out for

  • You stay solely responsible for every order, and it must leave within your handling time.
  • The parcel has to be non-branded where the supplier offers that.

Both

Start with dropshipping to find what sells, then stock your best sellers in Leicester.

We run all three. Tell us where you're starting and we'll plan it with you.

The tools behind it

Our own tools, built for this work

People run your shop. Our tools work in the background: they watch prices and stock, check new listings for brand risks, and match every fee to its order. They never log in to your account.

  • OnBuy fee calculator

OnBuy's sales fee for your category, with the per-product minimum and VAT on fees, and your profit, margin and break-even price. The rates come from OnBuy's own fee page and are checked every week.

  • Marketplace fee calculator

One item, four marketplaces: fees, profit and break-even price side by side.

  • Brand checks

We brand-check every product before it's listed, to avoid brands known to report sellers.

Your dashboard

Sign in any time to see every order we handle, what it sold for, what it cost and what you made. One login covers all your shops. You get one statement a month, and it never changes once it's sent. A late refund goes on the next one.

Questions

OnBuy questions, answered

Is dropshipping allowed on OnBuy?

OnBuy's seller terms allow a third party to fulfil your orders. You stay solely responsible for fulfilment, every order must leave within your handling time, and the parcel goes in non-branded packaging where that's an option.

What does OnBuy charge?

A monthly plan, from £25 a month on the Standard plan, plus a commission on each completed sale that varies by category and market. All fees are subject to VAT. Our free OnBuy fee calculator works out the sales fee for any item.

How fast must orders go out?

Within the handling time you set, which can be up to 10 days. Priority orders placed before your cut-off must go the same day, and orders not marked as dispatched within 30 days are cancelled and refunded. Orders that reach us by 12 pm are sent the same day on working days.

Can I sell abroad through OnBuy?

Yes. One account reaches 21 markets. Where you're based is separate from where you sell, as long as your products and delivery meet each market's rules. International shipping is available from our Leicester warehouse.
